Based on the Who Took Fluffy?™ story, in this Fiber Analysis Lab students learn how to identify the characteristics of common fibers that help to make up the fabrics of our lives: cotton, wool, linen and silk. Students learn the origins and the characteristics of these fibers and how to identify them when viewed through a microscope. Matching the control samples with the evidence, students determine which of the people involved in the case the fiber evidence belongs.

When conducted with the other labs in the activity, the student’s determinations reached in the Fiber Analysis Lab will help them to solve the case and get the answer to the question: Who Took Fluffy?™
